We talked to this mega-babe about her music, check out her interview to get to know her more!
Where are you from?
I’m from Los Angeles, CA, specifically the valley. Great (818), heyyyy! (Laughs)
Has there been a life experience that you would say has affected your music?
I would say the number one life experience that affected my music was when I was in Stockholm, Sweden. I always knew what my sound was, but when I went there I worked with artists, producers and writers that really were able to develop my sound and my vision out loud.
Describe “Slower than Usual” to us.
I think I would describe “Slower than Usual” as a captured moment...the song was really about a moment when I was sitting outside with somebody. In the pre-chorus I say “Smoke your cigarette slower than usual,” and he was outside (with me) and we were smoking and I was there with him, wishing it could go on forever, but, it doesn’t (laughs).
What do you want people to take away from your songs?
The number one thing I want my fans to feel when listening to my songs is that
somebody else understands them. I think that’s the best thing about music--that we can hear these songs and relate to people we’ve never even met before. I’ve always wanted to write about things that people feel but don’t necessarily feel that they can say themselves. I hope that when they listen to my music, they feel connected to something and feel like they’re not alone.
What’s the number one played song on your playlist?
The number one song is definitely “Temptation” by New Order. It’s my favorite New Order song, ever!
If an alien came to Earth, and you had to show them one song only, which song would you show them?
I would absolutely without a doubt show them “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure. Best song ever written. It’s the song that made me want to be a musician in the first place, and I’m sure that they’d love it!
